Personalized running routines designed to make you faster
I’m Mason Coppi.
I was born and raised in Southern California, went to school in South Carolina, started my trail running career in Central New York, and currently live and train in Lakewood, Colorado. Having bounced around so many different places, I don’t fit neatly into the traditional West Coast Best Coast or Beast Coast mindsets. Really, I like to think of myself as America’s Sweetheart, feeling tied to a wide range of trail types and trail communities across the U.S.
I went to school at Furman University, where I majored in Health Sciences, worked as a research assistant at the Furman Sports Lab, and competed as an NCAA D1 runner. Soon after graduating, I decided to pursue competitive trail and mountain running and, around the same time, started Hello to Running. As a coach, I work with all types of athletes, ranging from those just starting their running journey to athletes competing on the world stage. As an athlete, I specialize in sub ultra mountain racing, but like to get out of my comfort zone every now and then with longer trail events and road races. I won the 2026 USATF Mountain Running National Championship, won the 2026 Speedgoat 50k, and have represented Team USA at two World Mountain and Trail Running Championships. In winter, when the trails freeze over, I shift to road racing. Recently, I ran a 2:15:06 at the 2026 Boston Marathon, earned a US OTQ, and won the Citizens’ Race Division.
Both as a coach and an athlete, my goals are to push the boundaries of the sport, all while promoting fun and life balance! I approach training both scientifically and passionately. I love experimenting with new training methodologies and love just getting out and enjoying the mountains.
Outside of running, my interests include baking bread, cycling, dancing, karaoke, magical realism novels, illustration, and moka pot coffee.
